The story behind Voyage sur la comète
Our love story with travel began in 2012, when we were still in high school. We’d gone off for three weeks to discover Europe by coach: a trip through nearly nine countries that was enough to spark a genuine shared passion. Far more than just a youthful adventure, that summer gave us a taste for travel, and above all for planning it.
Over the years, we’ve kept travelling the world, on the hunt for the most beautiful destinations to get a real thrill out of (at a reasonable price), tracking down the best spots and the most worthwhile deals.
Every time we got back, friends and family would ask us to help them plan their own trips. So we’d give them our practical tips, our trip notes, our favourite finds and our go-to spots.
Creating Voyage sur la comète then felt like the obvious next step: our blog was born out of the desire to share with as many people as possible everything needed to plan and pull off their next trip with total peace of mind.

Why trust us?
Real, first-hand experience
From city breaks in France and Europe to big road trips, we only write about destinations we’ve personally explored (more than twenty in total), and in enough depth to cover them in a full article. In 2024, we spent a whole month travelling across the American West. And our latest big adventure took us to Colombia for two and a half months at the start of 2026: an immersive trip across the entire country, often off the beaten track, which we now know inside out.
Editorial independence
We fund the vast majority of our trips, accommodation and activities ourselves. When we do occasionally work with tourism players, we always mention it transparently in our articles. We keep full editorial freedom and only recommend the places and experiences we’ve personally tried and loved.
Absolute transparency
To keep our content free and cover the technical costs of running the blog as well as the creation of our future guides, we use affiliate links. Some booking links to our partners appear in our articles: they let you book with a discount, or at the standard rate, while paying us a small commission, at no extra cost to you.
