We’ve traveled to many countries in Europe over the past fifteen years: we’re starting to know this continent, which is probably our favorite, pretty well! As a fun fact, our first big trip together was a nine-country coach tour of Europe in 2012: a ton of memories and a real turning point for our love of travel.

When to go to Europe by season?

In Europe, the two best times to go are spring, from April to June, and fall, from September to October: temperatures are mild and the weather is nice in most countries.

Spring (May-June) and fall (September-October): generally speaking, these are the two ideal times to enjoy many countries in Europe, with mild temperatures and nice weather. As for crowds, keep an eye on school holiday dates and public holidays tied to religious celebrations (like Easter or Ascension Day in May) to avoid the crowds.
Shoulder season (April and November): these months can be a great opportunity to discover cities or regions that are very hot the rest of the year, like Malta or Andalusia, for example. We visited Seville in November and had lovely temperatures around 25°C.
The holiday season (December): if you’re after a festive atmosphere to visit Christmas markets or ring in the New Year, destinations like London or Germany could be right up your alley, despite the cold.

These recommendations are based on our own travel experience, climate data for each country, and feedback from our friends and family and our Instagram community. Since climate change is increasingly affecting how regular seasons are, treat our tips as general trends to help you plan your trip.
